The Dead Sea

The extraordinary Dead Sea composition is unique in the world: it provides over 25 types of minerals and valuable oligoelements including potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, bromine, sodium, sulfur, zinc, copper, manganese, lithium and iodine.

The Dead Sea lies about 400 meters below sea level, at the lowest point on earth. Being located in a totally desert area, the air is dry, clean, fresh and virtually free from pollen and pollutants.

The dry heat of the region makes the water evaporate slowly, causing a the gathering of a large amount of salt. The Dead Sea is one of the saltiest lakes in the world, its salt content is very high, ten times higher than that of other seas or oceans (average salinity = 345 g/l, against that of the ocean = 35 g/l).

Known and appreciated since ancient times, the Dead Sea region has now become a real spa where thousands of people go every year for dermatological and rheumatological treatments, cosmetic treatments and healthy wellness holidays.
